Luis Herrera is a travel enthusiast and an admirer of U.S. and world history who believes that travel has the power to help educate us all and break down social barriers often created by misunderstandings.

Luis is the founder and owner of Atlas Tours, an independent online travel agency within the Avoya Travel Network, which offers Escorted Tours as well as River Cruises and Independent tour programs worldwide.
His first international trip was to Europe in 1998 on an escorted tour which began in Italy and ended in England. Visiting the numerous museums, cathedrals and market squares as well as talking with the locals about their communities and daily routines made him realize early on how events of the past have shaped our present and how we are all interconnected by those events. Since that first international experience he has now visited over 30 countries on all continents with the exception of Antarctica and has also visited 30 states and the District of Columbia here in the United States.

Luis is a graduate of Academy Pacific Travel College in Hollywood, CA. where he majored in Travel & Tourism and received his Hospitality Certificate. His first employer in the travel industry was with STA Travel located in the Westwood neighborhood in Los Angeles. He spent a total of five years here learning about the different suppliers and tour operators and focused on selling holiday packages to university students and staff. He was called upon to help assist in other STA branches in Santa Monica, USC, San Jose State University and U.C. Santa Barbara.

 After his career with STA Travel, Luis continued to branch out into other areas of the travel industry and began his employment with GOGO Worldwide Vacations, a leading global wholesaler offering individual and group vacation package experiences to destinations such as Mexico, the Caribbean, USA, Canada, Europe, and the South Pacific. Luis has also taken positions with the Travel Corporation, Dillard's Travel and CIBT / Visa Central where he learned the process of obtaining visas and passports and helped maintain good working relationships with various consulates in the Greater Los Angeles area. His most recent employer was working for an online travel agency in Texas where he spent over 10 years booking worldwide tours and cruises for his clients. It was during his time in Texas where Luis took and passed the industry exams to become registered as a Certified Travel Consultant.



After the devastating events of the Covid-19 pandemic, Luis decided to return home to Los Angeles and form his own travel agency with the goal of assisting clients in selecting the trip that would best suit their needs and create memories that will truly last a lifetime."
